Helen Remblence & Paul Davis are THE HAPPYS.
(The duo name? An acronym for "HELEN AND PAUL PLAY YOU SONGS"!)

Individually based near Hertford and Royston, we're both experienced live performers.
Helen is probably best known as the lead vocalist of covers band UNDERCOVER (www.lemonrock.com/undercoverhertfordshire), while Paul is a serial keyboards & bass dep musician with numerous local acts (www.pauldavismusic.co.uk).

THE HAPPYS is an unplugged-style vocal & piano duo with harmonies, providing 100%-live music for public and private hirers who want performers at their event, party, occasion or home, but don't have either the budget, space and/or desire for a larger band.

We proudly do not use backing tracks, so each performance is entirely individual!

(Mon to Fri evenings: £190 / Sat, Sun & Bank Holidays: £240)


PRIVATE HIRE: 2 x 50 minute sets (with 20-minute set break)

(Mon to Fri evenings: £250 / Sat, Sun & Bank Holidays: £300)


NON-PRIVATE PUB/CLUB BOOKINGS TAKEN TOO


All of the above prices apply to bookings in the SG postcode area.

For Mondays to Fridays (private hire): Arrival on-site by 7.30pm with 8.15pm to 9.15pm start time.

For Saturdays, Sundays & Bank Holidays (private hire): Performance start time 1 hour after arrival time.

THE F.A.Q. SECTION (for private hirers):


DO WE HAVE ALL THOSE BORING CERTIFICATES?

Yes! We have public liability insurance (PLI) and all our amplification & gear has the necessary PAT certification.


DO WE HAVE ANY ROCK-STAR-STYLE RIDERS?

We won’t make a fuss if the brown M&Ms are left in with the other colours (unlike Van Halen)!

But just a small handful of more practical ones if we could be so bold:

  1. Nearby loading/parking for up to 2 cars, and free access between the performing area & vehicles during set-up/pack-away.

  2. Access to a safe mains power supply immediately adjacent to the designated performing area.

  3. Access to a nearby toilet and drinking water (we’re only human!).

  4. A level, flat & stable performing area large enough to accommodate the 2 of us and our kit. 4 feet by 8 feet is a good start!

  5. If the performance is outdoors, adequate cover from rain and direct sunlight is required.

  6. The performing area should not be a thoroughfare or a place where children are playing (and could get hurt).

  7. Unless otherwise arranged, we start packing away immediately after our performance has finished.


YOU HAVE A GUEST THAT WANTS TO PERFORM?

We politely request that all such performers are arranged in advance at the time of booking (not during the gig please) and provide their own microphones (for obvious current reasons), plus instruments, leads, backing tracks and connectors.


WILL THE VOLUME ANNOY THE NEIGHBOURS, PETS OR GUESTS?

We can regulate our volume to suit the hirers’ requirements, and will do our very best to do so.

However, permissions for live music in homes and gardens are something that must be sorted out and discussed in advance by the hirers, and is not the responsibility of the duo, even if we play our part in keeping your neighbourhood a happy one!
